ClassiCon has expanded its rug collection with L’Art Noir. A gouache by Eileen Gray from the 1920s served as a template for this large-format piece, which is produced in two sizes with diameters of either 200 or 300cm. ClassiCon offers L’Art Noir both in pure New Zealand virgin wool or as a fully plant-based version made from hand-spun Himalayan nettle. L’Art Noir originates from a creative period in which Gray – influenced by movements such as the Bauhaus – engaged deeply with minimalism and symbolic geometry (photo credit Fabian Frinzel)
