This week’s product launches

A bed named after a Cornish saint, chunky wool carpet and a table lamp inspired by Jupiter’s moon. These are the product launches that caught my eye this week

The Cornish Bed Company has launched Agnes, a modern take on a traditional Victorian design, with authentic castings and a smooth curved top rail. The name Agnes pays homage to the village of St Agnes on the Cornish coast with the beds hand cast at a foundry not far away.

The bed, which is available in 13 colours, features a handmade head cushion, produced by Devon based sister company Naturalmat. The cushion is filled with organic wool and recycled denim and can be upholstered in a bespoke fabric of choice.

Collage chunky loop pile from Crucial Trading

Crucial Trading has created three new designs in wool – Collage, Weather Watching and Balance. Woven from 100% New Zealand wool Collage is a chunky 6ply loop pile, Balance is a curation of quiet colours and textures designed to encourage restorative living. And Weather Watching is inspired by the British obsession with the weather featuring earthy, subtle tones.

The carpets can all be ordered as bespoke rugs, runners or meterage for a fitted carpet.

The lo lamp from Joe Scog

British brand Joe Scog Designed Lighting unveiled their new lo table lamp at the recent Hix exhibition. The lo spherical globe is made from blown glass that gives the illusion of floating above a heavy marble base. The lamp was inspired by the moons of Jupiter named lo by Galileo in 1610.

lo is made from marble off cuts discarded by a kitchen worktop manufacturer. The metal finishes, cord and switch are all customisable.
