This week’s product launches

Lighting inspired by baskets plus rugs inspired by rocks and candy. Here are the product launches that caught my eye this week

Art+Loom is a Miami-based rug brand producing bold customisable designs. Designed by Art+Loom’s Founder and Creative Director, Samantha Gallacher, the rugs are handwoven in Nepal from silk, wool, linen and allo, a fibre made from Himalayan nettle.

The Art of Formation Collection features four rugs (shown above) — Stonehenge, Ondula, The Divide and The Formation Era each inspired by rock formations and shattered slate. Shown here with Bea Pernia’s award winning Atus furniture that combines wood with offcuts of Italian marble.

Wallpapers now available from Penny Morrison

From Turkish embroidery and Japanese textiles to illustrative florals, Penny Morrison’s fabric designs are inspired by cultures around the world. Now, a selection of the designs are also available as wallpapers by the roll. All the wallpapers are printed in the UK.

Fully upholstered Sassy bench from Studio Atkinson

Studio Atkinson has introduced three new pieces to its range of British-made furniture, created with materiality, quality and craftmanship at its core.

The fully upholstered Sassy Bench can be customised to a client’s specification with upholstered legs and fixed seat cushions. The Breakfast Bench is an upholstered seat set on wooden legs and the Sidney side table is now available with a painted finish and a choice of stone top.

Wonky woven natural palm basket shades coming soon from Pooky

Pooky has teamed up with Collaborative Craft Projects to produce a selection of organic, all-
natural pendants. The pendants are handwoven by artisan craftswomen in Zimbabwe using Ilala palm, which is sustainably grown and harvested locally.

Each design takes inspiration from the handcrafted baskets created by the women involved with CCP. The natural weave of the pendants transmit light when on and are a piece of art in their own right when not in use. (available from Pooky in September)
