Decorex returns to Olympia London from 11-14 October, promising high-end craftsmanship, cutting-edge design, exclusive product launches plus live talks and demonstrations

There will be over 280 exhibitors at Decorex this year, covering furniture, fabrics, lighting, smart home tech, flooring and accessories. Visitors will see a curated mix of established brands and emerging makers, with a focus on design variety and quality. Here is my summary of this year’s show highlights

The four-day talks programme has been curated to give interior designers practical guidance and industry perspectives. It covers topics from conscious design to building a brand, and from career development to collaborative working. Expert speakers confirmed to appear include renowned designers Linda Boronkay, Suzy Hoodless, Patrick Williams, and Sophie Robinson. I will moderate sessions on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, so I hope to see you there.

In addition to the Talks Theatre, the Sustainability Space returns to Decorex with expert-led sessions on responsible design.These sessions span local materials and skills to healthier indoor environments, waste reduction and wellbeing.

VIP lounge – Claudia Dorsch has designed this year’s VIP lounge with a concept titled: Back to the Future – The Chalet Reimagined. Inspired by the glamour of 1970s European ski culture, Claudia avoids kitsch cliches and has created an atmospheric retreat that fuses raw metal, timber, fur and fire with contemporary sculptural lighting and alpine antiques

The Decorex bar this year created by Alex Dauley and Grant Pierrus, of Aeven, is titled A Seat at the Table. A long, continuous table anchors the space, surrounded by an eclectic collection of chairs and furnishings contributed by a selection of brands, makers, and designers. The layout reflects diversity in the design industry and invites conversation

Making Spaces – Is a celebration of exceptional craft with 14 makers showcasing a selection of crafts including paper-crafted botanical sculpture, handwoven textiles, hand-carved, geometric British stone sculpture and kiln-formed and cast-glass installations
