What’s on in September

Poke around some of London’s historic buildings, discover pioneering new designs with the Green Grads or spend a day at Capesthorne Hall. Here’s what’s on in September

From the 6 to 17 September 2023, many historic and architecturally interesting buildings in London open their doors to the public as part of Open House Festival Get ready to explore some of London’s best known buildings as well as some of its best kept secrets.

Comfortable shoes at the ready, London Design Festival runs from 16 to 24 September with events across town. Pop into Focus (photo above) at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour for the latest textiles, lighting and furniture. And I also recommend Green Grads in Heals for an insight into a more sustainable future.

Also part of London Design Festival, Material Matters, 20 to 23 September is at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower, bringing together 40 leading brands, designers and makers to celebrate the importance of materials.

Meanwhile London Design Fair will take place at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, 21 to 24 September. The fair showcases both established designers and rising talent.

But if this all feels a bit Londoncentric, Design Central North West, 26 and 27 September is held in majestic Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield. The show brings together luxury brands, innovative new products and there are daily industry talks too.
