The Andrew Martin Interior Design Award celebrates three decades of championing design talent around the world
Thirty years ago, Martin Waller had an idea: to create an award that would recognise the very best interior designers, wherever they came from, and give them a platform on the international stage. In 1996, the first Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award was launched. Its inaugural winner was a relatively unknown designer at the time… Kelly Hoppen
This year, as the award reaches its 30th edition, it returns to Britain, with British designer Ben Pentreath (pictured) named the 30th Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year

Ben says, “On the 30th anniversary of the Andrew Martin awards, it’s rather amazing, and deeply flattering, to have been included in this stellar list of truly global interior design practices. I have always thought of my work as trying to be rather specifically local, and in its way, the very opposite of global, although it is true that the work of the studio now spans several countries and indeed continents.”
The 30th edition of the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review brings together this year’s top 100 designers, in a celebratory, forward-looking edition that captures cutting-edge interiors from every corner of the world. From minimalist urban lofts to opulent country estates, from bold boutique hotels to serene coastal retreats, presenting the spaces and designers shaping how we live today, and tomorrow
