BIID reveals shortlist for Design Awards

The British Institute of Interior Design has announced the shortlist for its inaugural BIID Interior Design Awards, with 28 projects shortlisted across seven regional categories.

The BIID launched its first ever national awards scheme in January with the aim of celebrating the very best of British interior design. The Awards have welcomed entries from both BIID members and non members from both residential and commercial sectors.

BIID President Lindsey Rendell says, “We are delighted to have received such high quality entries for our very first awards scheme, which includes such a creative and inspiring range of projects by talented interior designers across the UK. We can’t wait to see which projects will progress to the next stage and are already looking forward to seeing the winners revealed at the awards ceremony on 5th October.”

The following projects have been shortlisted in the regional categories:

Central London:

  • Base Interior – Bryanston Square
  • Gensler – McCann Worldgroup
  • Pascoe Interiors – Vernon House
  • Tollgard & BDG Architecture + Design – Dojo offices

Greater London:

  • Catherine Wilman Interiors – St Johns Wood Villa
  • Designs Unlimited – The Brewhouse at Kenwood House
  • Frank & Faber Ltd – Ingram Avenue
  • Hill House Interiors – Surrey Hills
  • The Vawdrey House – Greenwich House

Midlands:

  • Concertus Design & Property Consultants – Mildenhall Hub
  • John Evans Interior Architecture & Design – Country Manor
  • Pippa Paton Design Ltd – Cotswold Village House
  • Studio Osborn – The Old Post Office

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

  • Ampersand – Edinburgh Mansion (Entertainment Suite)
  • Blacksheep – The Glenlivet Visitor Centre
  • Curious Egg – Edinburgh New Town Apartment
  • Julia Grant Interiors – Ceridian Europe HQ

North and North West

  • Ampersand – The Whittling House
  • Design by Jo Bee – Hogwill Lodge
  • Dunning & Everard Interior Design – Upper Heights
  • Inside Studio – Playroom
  • Stephen George + Partners – The 55 Group

South West

  • Interaction – Elvie
  • Zelah Studio – Verdant Brewing Company

South East

  • Dunning & Everard Interior Design – Exton Hall at Exton Hall Vineyard
  • Louise Holt Design – Oxfordshire Country House
  • Morgan Lovell – Three
  • Pfeiffer Design – Design Studio, Chapel Barn

These projects will now progress to the next stage which includes in-person visits from the BIID assessors. The final judging will take place in July, by a panel of expert judges to determine the overall category winners.
