This week’s interior design news

A new showroom for West One Bathrooms, crazy maze tiles from Bert & May plus Roger Oates’ first tufted rugs. It is all in this week’s interior design news

I posted a sneaky preview picture of these rugs on my London Design Week preview last month, but now I can share the official photography. Roger Oates, best known for its flat weave runners and rugs, has taken a step in a new direction with the launch of 100% wool tufted rugs. As with the rest of the collection, the new rugs are all designed, made and finished in the UK using British materials. The tufted collection re-imagines Roger Oates’ iconic stripe to great effect, so that, what appear to be simple designs, play with cut and loop textures and varying pile heights to add depth to the pattern. Each design is available as a runner and several sizes of rug in multiple colourways. The rugs are currently only available from the London showroom, later in the summer you will also be able to purchase them online.

Get lost in the design. Mazes tiles from Bert & May

Prepare for hours of fun creating your own distinct design with the new Mazes tile collection from Bert & May. Mazes is inspired by the geometry often seen in Art Deco architecture with its precise lines and rounded corners. The collection consists of three designs in three colourways – opal, marigold and old iron. The tiles can be used collectively to create a bespoke pattern with multiple twists and turns.

The interior of the new West One Bathrooms showroom in Tunbridge Wells
How the new West One Bathrooms showroom will look in September

After a year of limited access to showrooms, how delightful to report that West One Bathrooms is opening a new showroom in Tunbridge Wells this September. Located in the heart of this historic East Sussex town, the new showroom will cover just under 4,000sq m cross two floors. The showroom has been designed to showcase West One’s luxury bathroom displays and brands including Inbani, Agape and Lefroy Brooks. And, to enhance the buying experience, there is a bar and Virtual Worlds 4D virtual reality theatre plus a tile sample area and waterproof wallpaper gallery.
