The Britannic Explorer, with interiors by Albion Nord, celebrates the luxury of train travel
London based design studio Albion Nord created a quintessentially British interior for the Britannic Explorer, a Belmond train, with bold and opulent fabrics, textures and patterns creating a space ‘as layered and inviting as a luxurious British home, with hidden elements that surprise and delight’

An earthy colour palette and natural materials offer a link between the interior and the surrounding landscape as the train carries passengers from London to Wales, Cornwall or the Lake District. Albion Nord took inspiration from Britain’s rich landscapes, blending wild charm with elegant touches of whimsy
This is illustrated by bespoke textiles from Rubelli working in collaboration with artist and designer Luke Edward Hall brining vivid colours, bold motifs and remarkable textures to the walls, armchairs and headboards of the luxurious suites

Initially drawn by hand, each of Hall’s designs were then transformed into digital patterns by the team at Rubelli, who then translated the art into textiles. This approach reflects the spirit of Britannic Explorer, blending creativity, craft and design
Rubelli’s Rousha fabric features Hall’s signature line drawings, depicting various landmarks of the Britannic Explorer’s journey through the British Isles including seagulls, sandcastles, sailing boats, the Welsh dragon, bridges and castles

In one guest suite, the walls have been covered with a bespoke version of Rubelli’s vivid Diamon Stripe from Hall’s earlier Return to Arcadia collection. The fabric has been adapted specifically for the Britannic Explorer, with the introduction of a bold red colourway
