This May, French Craft Collective returns to London Craft Week with a one day event dedicated to showcasing the very best designers and makers from across the Channel
French Craft Collective is an exclusive, one-day event, curated by Business France and dedicated to high-end design. The trade-only exhibition, held at the elegant Carlton House Terrace, will showcase the works of 10 selected French expert designers and makers to London’s international design and interiors community.
Multiple disciplines will be on display, including decorative woodwork, stonework, metalwork, glass, lighting and custom furnishings, all focused on high-end private residential and commercial design projects.
French Craft Collective is a space of inspiration for connecting, learning and sharing. British architects and interior designers are invited to meet the French craftspeople, see their designs, learn about their savoir-faire and new innovative techniques being developed in France – the perfect setting to discuss potential future collaborations. In addition, a thought-provoking panel discussion, featuring leading names from the design industry, will take place during the day. French Craft Collective is the place for the design community to meet and discover the excellence of French craftsmanship

Atelier H Paris was founded by Pierre Harel, a self-taught designer and craftsman who focuses on the combination of natural stone with precious minerals such as crystal and agates. He blends traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation to highlight the raw beauty of natural stone. This process led to the development of ‘marble leaf’ an exclusive, innovative marble-working process that creates luminous sculptures (illustrated above) with virtually no limits on design or size. Pierre creates bespoke pieces for architects and specifiers

Ateliers Lemaître craft natural stone into precise, durable architectural elements for complex, custom projects. The workshop delivers long lasting creations that embody French artisanal excellence using their integrated design-to-installation expertise, carefully choosing materials and focusing on details (meet Ateliers Lemaître)

Atelier Munaé founded by artist and designer Sarah Gracia, creates made-to-order pieces that blend art, design and fine craftsmanship. Working with natural materials and skilled artisans, the studio develops poetic, sculptural objects with a sustainable and human centred approach

Sophie Toporkoff founded Atelier Toporkoff to dedicate herself to the art of stained glass, after a decade as Creative Director at Hermès. With a contemporary and eclectic vision of stained glass, the studio creates its own designs and collaborates with numerous talents from all over the world, often from fields far removed from traditional stained glass. While the studio has mastered the ancestral skills inherited from a longstanding stained-glass tradition in France, it often seeks to subvert them, pushing the pursuit of excellence towards innovative techniques

Coralie Beauchamp is a French designer celebrated for her sculptural, couture inspired lighting pieces. Winner of the Maison & Objet Prix Découvertes (2013) and Decorex London’s Best International Exhibitor (2019), she has created bespoke works for leading luxury houses including Dior, Céline, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Her pieces are held in the Mobilier National (a French state institution under the Ministry of Culture that manages over 130,000 pieces of historic and contemporary furniture and artworks used to furnish government owned properties), with several installed at the Élysée Palace and Fort de Brégançon. Through her signature Résilles collection and hand-crafted furniture, Beauchamp continues to push the boundaries of material innovation and refined, poetic design

Dunod Mallier, founded in 1995 and awarded France’s ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ label, is recognised for its exceptional wrought‑iron craftsmanship. The workshop creates bespoke metalwork for projects worldwide, with collaborations with big names such as Hermès. Dedicated to precision, durability and the transmission of traditional skills, Dunod Mallier brings French artisanal excellence to outstanding architectural and interior projects

Founded in 1969 by Yves Gilbert, Les Ateliers de la Chapelle master decorative woodwork: they restore, design and create pieces from panelling to furniture, be it classical or modern. The five ateliers, that are highly specialised in different disciplines, work in tandem to offer clients this variety. They are a part of Aurige, French leader in heritage and historic monument restoration, allowing them to work on public sites and museums such as – Palais de la Porte Durée, Chateau de Versailles, Musée Carnavalet – as well as in private settings

Founded in 1888, Gauthier & Cie is a heritage French maker of finely crafted window treatment hardware, awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label for its exceptional metalworking expertise. The company creates meticulously designed poles, tracks and bespoke blinds from a range of materials including leather with the same high standards of precision, aesthetics and technical excellence. Their projects have brought them to work with many prestigious names such as the Elysée, the Louvre museum and the Ritz Carlton to name but a few

Glass Variations is a French design brand offering small series of pieces with the freedom to customise each piece through a wide range of glass finishes. As the first brand to produce certified eco-friendly mirrors free of lead and volatile organic compounds, it combines innovation with responsible craftsmanship. Born within Cevino Glass, an independent French glassmaking group, the studio relies on nearly a century of expertise from its historic workshops near Lille and Lyon. Each piece is cut, shaped and hand assembled using invisible UV bonding, allowing the creation of bespoke mirrors and unique glass objects for both residential and commercial projects
