Introductions is a new 100% British wool flatweave collection from Roger Oates, with a nod to the timeless elegance of the English country house interior. Using the pinks and reds favoured by the Georgian’s to rich forest green and dark blues admired during the Victorian period, the palette is brought to life in four new designs.
Tamart is a new design brand founded by the London-based architect Amos Goldreich, honouring the work and love story of his late parents, the modernist architects and polymaths, Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich. There are 10 designs in the new collection including the Highgate chair (above). Tamart can be found at The Wax Building in Shoreditch – home to independent British design brands.
Also at The Wax Building, Cozmo, the modular sofa company, has just launched the Float Sofa. Designed by Raw Edges studio. the sofas have mix and match covers or as Cozmo calls them ‘jackets’ allowing you to change the mood of your sofa on a seasonal basis. Fancy fleece for winter or brightly coloured cotton for summer – you can mix them too. The same applies to their simple bed head with removable and washable headboard jackets
Northern Irish designer David Irwin has launched the Oscar lighting collection for Heathfield & Co. Oscar introduces a refined, nature-inspired aesthetic through a wall light, linear pendant and single pendants, each featuring apple-shaped blown glass shades. The light is named after Irwin’s son.
Interior design practice Studio QD has launched the Coastal furniture collection, featuring eight pieces that have craftsmanship and material selection at their heart. Handcrafted in Britain, the initial inspiration draws from coastal silhouettes, across dining, vanity and console tables and bedside units in eucalyptus and oak.
British interior design house Sims Hilditch has designed a collection of faux bamboo accessories for Chelsea Textiles. The hand crafted range includes three sizes of tray, box with lid, tissue boxes and bin in a choice of mist, natural or bone colourway. Inspired by the opulence of 18th-century furniture design, the collection is based on the creations of Swedish furniture maker Ephraim Ståhl. Known for his masterful faux bamboo chairs and benches, Ståhl’s influence is evident in the natural colours and intricate detailing of this new range.
