New showroom openings

After such a dearth of activity last year, it is exciting to have a handful of new showrooms to shout about – including Coalbrook, Havwoods and House of Dome.

Coalbrook is a new brand from bathroom distributor Davroc. The brand is described as ‘affordable luxury’, with design led bathroom products at reasonable prices.

Taking its name from Coalbrookdale, the site of the world’s first iron bridge, industrial-inspired design is central to the brand’s identity.

Coalbrook’s new home is The Market Building (photo above) an experience led showroom in Clerkenwell. Created by interior architects Holloway Li, the displays reference industrial chimneys and Victorian wall panels re-imagined in orange and amber resin, in the basement working tap displays are housed in industrial boiler like structures. The new showroom is also home to Davroc’s Bard & Brazier who designed display units fabricated from brass tubing.

London Basin Company has opened its first showroom at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.

Previously operating exclusively online, the new space will showcase the full collection of richly decorated porcelain basins. Alongside the main offering, there will also be displays of vanity units, taps and accessories.

Anna Callis, founder of London Basin Company says, ” As an interior designer myself I have spent a lot of time at The Design Centre and it has always been one of my favourite places to go for inspiration. We’re so thrilled that our first showroom is here – it’s a dream come true.”

Storywall at the Havwoods showroom

Meanwhile in Knutsford, wood flooring specialist Havwoods will be opening a brand new showroom in the next couple of months. This replaces the Manchester showroom that closed last year. The new showroom is part of the brand’s wider strategy to reinforce Havwoods presence in the North West.

The new space will provide Havwood customers with inspiration when sourcing wood flooring from a range that includes solid and reclaimed wood flooring as well as cladding.

The next new showroom to catch my eye is King, a design-led Australian brand which has opened its first UK showroom on Tottenham Court Road.

Established in 1977, King is particularly known for its fully modular sofas built to last on a steel frame.

Founder David King says, “We wanted the space to reflect the Australian way of living and evoke the nostalgia of a home – taking customers on a journey through our curated collections and aspirational lifestyle settings. The London showroom does just that, we can’t wait to introduce our iconic King designs to the UK market.”

And finally, Revolution of Forms is an online retailer founded on conscious sourcing and transparency. Specialising in modern Mexican crafts the company sources handmade objects produced from natural and recycled materials and made with traditional techniques that don’t harm the environment or the people creating them.

The company is the brainchild of Raffaella Goffredi a former design specialist at Christie’s. She says, “It’s a privilege for me to tell these stories and provide makers with an opportunity to connect with a wider audience, as well as promoting contemporary craft and illustrating the important role it has to play in a future based on sustainability.”

Bathroom specialist C.P Hart has opened a new showroom in Wimbledon Village. The two storey space will showcase the latest products from its own exclusive collections as well as ranges from brand leaders such as Duravit, AXOR, Gessi and Toto.

Yousef Mansuri, the company’s director of showroom design, says, “Our new Wimbledon Village showroom has been designed with real homes in mind, showing realistically sized bathrooms that feature our newest and most sought-after products.
