Formed with Future Heritage

Formed with Future Heritage is a new show coming to Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in October

The show will run from 10 – 14 October and will provide a showcase for established and emerging makers curated by influential design journalist Corinne Julius.

Future Heritage previously popped up at Decorex, but this new incarnation aims to bridge the gap between makers and those seeking to buy or commission one-off pieces.

The organisers say, “In times of mass production, craft provides an outlet for authenticity and meaning. Interior design plays a vital role in placing craft at the heart of homes, hotels, yachts and public spaces – supporting the careers of makers and exposing the wider world to the power and beauty of the handmade.”

Highlights will include: Finalists of the Loewe Craft Prize 2022, Blast Studio, who have developed a technique to transform urban waste into a biomaterial that can be 3D printed into furniture and lighting; Edinburgh-based Frances Priest who uses clay as a canvas to build layered surfaces and patterns. For the first time, she will present colourful encaustic tiles made by Craven Dunnill Jackfield, combining contemporary designs with historical techniques; and Hannah Tounsend, whose contemplative painterly vessels explore the layered landscape and sea-washed surfaces of the British coastline.
