Kick off your flip-flops, it’s time to forget the summer holidays and get back into the swing of things with the big September shows
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, London Design Festival runs from the 17 to 25 September. The festival provides a platform for designers and creative businesses to showcase their work. LDF is predominantly free, with specially commissioned installations across London, 12 Design Districts with participating open studios and showrooms to explore, and an interesting talks programme.
As part of the London Design Festival, Design London runs from the 21 to 24 September. Located on the Greenwich Peninsula, this four day trade show (image above) celebrates contemporary furniture and lighting. Expect international pavilions from Denmark and Portugal as well as product launches and a lively discussion programme including conversations with Lee Broom and Sabine Marcelis.
Meanwhile, over at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, Focus is the ultimate design and decoration show with product launches, workshops and talks. Focus runs from 20 to 23 September and it is advisable to pre-book your favourites sessions in advance as it tends to get busy.
I am conscious that the interior design industry is London centric, so to redress that balance lets talk about Design Central, North West. This luxury interiors trade show runs from the 27 to 28 September at the stunning Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire. The show is recognised by the BIID, features an array of brand exhibitors plus a daily talks programme.
