Have you planned your visit to London Design Week 2022 yet? I am moderating three talks during the event – come and join me, they are going to be fascinating
London Design Week 2022 (LDW) starts with a global online launch on Sunday 13 March, followed by a week of product launches and showroom events at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour from 14 to 18 March.
With Paris Deco Off postponed until later in the month, many suppliers are choosing LDW as their launch platform for SS22 collections so there will be much to see and explore (I will write a round-up of some of the best new collections after the show). There is also, as always, a jam packed programme of seminars, talks and workshops to enjoy. Here is an unashamed plug for the three events I am involved with.
On Monday 14 at 12.30 I will be in conversation with Iconic British Designer Zandra Rhodes (above) regarding the launch of her latest collaboration with silk weaving house Gainsborough. I haven’t met Zandra before, so I’m excited about this one. We will of course delve into the new collection, but I also want to ask Zandra about her years in the textile and fashion industries and her love of colour. Location: George Spencer Designs, Third Floor, Design Centre East
Then on Monday 14 at 3.00pm join me when I talk to Hayley McAfee head of Villa Nova and acclaimed potter Kyra Cane. Kyra has collaborated with Villa Nova on a stunning new fabric and wallpaper collection, but how did this relationship come about and how does the work of a ceramicist translate onto textiles? Location: Romo, First Floor, North Dome
Finally, on Tuesday 15 at 2.00pm, I will be moderating a panel discussion in association with the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). This business seminar, entitled Goal Setting for Business Growth, will explore how interior designers can grow their business – we have a great panel so expect a lively discussion. Location: Collier Webb, Second Floor, South Dome
