New showrooms at DCCH

If you are heading to Focus there are new showrooms at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour worth exploring

Focus will run at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour between 16 and 20 September. Giving you the opportunity to see the latest interiors collections as well as enjoying tours and talks.

However, when visiting DCCH, it is easy to get stuck in the rut of only looking in on your favourite haunts. I know I go back to the same showrooms time and again. So on your next visit, why not pop into a few of the outlets you have never visited before?

To get you started here are details of four recently opened showrooms for you to explore.

Tom Raffield’s steam-bent, natural timber creations are immediately recognisable: the Cornwall-based designer has created a visual language of his own. The brand’s first London showroom features lighting, furniture and accessories, and sustainability is a strong part of the story – raw materials are responsibly sourced, the steam-bending is a low-energy process and wastage is minimal. To say nothing of the beautiful, organic-looking results. (Find Tom Raffield on the First Floor, Design Centre East)

While Fox Linton is one of the quintessential names in British decorating, known for fabrics that use natural fibres in its classic designs, its parent company, Jim Thompson, has a celebrated heritage of its own, making handwoven ikats, Thai silks and more, while No.9 Thompson acts as its adventurous younger sibling. Visit during Focus/24 to see Jim Thompson’s The Shan collection which celebrates southeast Asia’s vast Shan Highlands (Find Fox Linton on the First Floor, Design Centre East)

Design Centre North, the Design Centre’s cluster of showrooms across from its main entrance, has been steadily growing, with prestigious names moving in. Joining them in September is THG Paris, the esteemed French brand of bathroom fittings. The new showroom is a jewel box of a space that brings the company’s craftsmanship to the fore; its latest Zoom collection is typically innovative, designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and inspired by a camera lens (Find THG Paris on the Ground Floor, Design Centre North)

Hamilton’s electrical switches and sockets have been gracing the best interiors since 1968, and this second-generation family business will now have a hub at the heart of the design industry. The 65 sqm showroom will show all of its ranges and finishes, including its Paintables collection, which can be pre-painted in any RAL colour or be delivered ready-primed for your own finish.
