Looking for a kitchen supplier for your next project? Here’s my round-up of recent kitchen installations to help narrow down your choice
From Sheraton, a bold statement of colour to reflect the client’s personality (influencer @thiscolourfulnest). The cabinetry is painted in Floris by Mylands with open shelving and ribbed glass display units to display colourful crockery paired with a fluted island painted in Island Shimmer by Graham & Brown., Brass hardware by Armac Martin finished with Dekton Helena worktops. The spacious kitchen island with a built-in Neff hob encourages sociable cooking, with plenty of storage space and comfortable bar seating.
This bespoke kitchen (above), designed by PAD London, is in an Edwardian detached family home that was renovated internally to include an extended kitchen-dining space, with an adjoining living room and TV snug, that were separated with Crittal-style double doors. PAD was introduced to the project by the homeowner’s interior designer, Karen Comber – the client’s brief to PAD was that they wanted an elegant, yet functional and sociable kitchen space that would allow them to spend time together when preparing and eating meals. PAD answered the brief by creating a layout that allowed for an oversized central island with comfortable seating for everyday dining on both sides, plenty of cabinetry for storage on all three walls and a walk-in pantry. To keep the space tidy and organised, a PAD walk-in pantry was included, plus a breakfast cupboard to hold the family’s breakfast cereals, morning crockery and toaster.
Designed by Grid Thirteen in collaboration with interior designer Faye Robinson, the brief from the homeowners was to create a sophisticated, sociable kitchen with a functional layout in their Georgian period home. The owners preferred warm, neutral tones and materials and wanted statement features in their kitchen to complement the original features of the home and enhance their interior style. Grid Thirteen answered the brief by designing a luxury kitchen using SieMatic cabinetry with a double island solution as its centrepiece, blending the space with a fusion of handcrafted furniture from Grid Thirteen’s Darling Maeve handcrafted range. The company also designed a bespoke, statement liquid metal clad sideboard in a rich gold tone that was added to run adjacent to the main kitchen to form a striking feature display and additional storage area. The owner of this Kensington kitchen sought a design that seamlessly blended the cool simplicity of Scandinavian style and the warmth of her native Australia. To achieve this, Charlie Smallbone, founder of Ledbury Studio, selected oak for the cabinetry, book-matching it on the drawers of the hob run and island, while painting the full-height cupboards white. Additionally, he incorporated fluted oak panels on the outside of the island and around the base of the breakfast bar. All the handles are patinated brass, matching the kickplates, furniture surrounds and the sculptural brass hanging structure above the island.
This Roundhouse kitchen (above) was designed for a family of four, combining the brand’s Metro and Urbo cabinetry in walnut book-matched veneer. The project was tailored for a family that loves home cooking and entertaining, making hosting a central part of the brief. The island features an oiled antique brass wrap, topped with a 30mm African Fusion surface on the high section and Coral Clay Suede on the lower section (not visible here).
Created for a beautiful town house in the heart of Chelsea, this design showcases Poggenpohl’s +SEGEMENTO, a design synonymous with minimalistic elegance and high-end functionality. The kitchen features doors in Blossom White and Champagne Aluminium, complemented by Medium Nut Tree. The worktops are crafted from Dekton Laurent Natural sintered stone, a material known for its durability while also looking beautiful.
This kitchen from Olive & Barr sits at the heart of a characterful Grade II-listed barn, with an open-plan dining room to one side and a living room to the other. The layout was based on simple symmetry, the range was positioned between the two windows with a handcrafted cooker hood above. A deep pan draw, a built-in chopping board and a cupboard completed the run of cabinets mirrored on either side. The island features a Shaws fluted sink paired with a Quooker tap in patinated brass. Sage Green, by Little Greene, was chosen for the cabinetry paired with a light-coloured quartz.
This vibrant orangery-style kitchen from Sola combines eclectic charm with practical functionality, designed for a busy family passionate about entertaining. At its heart is a two-meter island, complemented by a traditional French-style cooker hood, a brass rail for copper pans and a trio of ovens beneath a magnificent lantern roof. The back wall features bleached oak veneer-fronted base drawers in Sola Kitchen’s signature Fjord style, paired with glass-fronted wall cabinets. Rose-red marble, patterned worktops and flooring all add to the character.
Kitchens by Holloways created a shaker style kitchen that strikes a balance between timeless style and modern functionality. Contrasting Calacatta Marble and Zimbabwean Black Granite worktops adds a sense of personality then and there are no wall units or extractors in view to ensure a cleaner aesthetic. A fully tiled back wall creates an impact and opting for open shelving, set to the side as opposed to one long open shelf, adds some needed structure – balancing out the height of the cabinetry on the opposite side. The island had the potential to make the kitchen feel boxed-in, but by designing this central feature on legs, it instantly created the impression of more space and opened up the view of the floor throughout the entire room. This classic bespoke handpainted kitchen with stained oak island was designed by Darren Taylor at Searle & Taylor. The floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and the sink run feature 22mm thick door and drawer fronts with 18mm broken ogee bead mouldings hand painted in Stone 2 by Paint & Paper Library. The tall run includes a left-hand glass-fronted stemware cabinet and a right-hand glass-fronted Gaggenau wine climate cabinet, with a bank of Gaggenau Vario 400 ovens at the centre. A Gaggenau Cook’s Cooktop is integrated within the 30mm thick Bianco Superiore Honed Quartzite worktop, together with a small prep sink and a Quooker Fusion Boiling Water Tap. Floating quartzite shelves on either side of the Crittall window sit on brass brackets by Corston Architectural above a quartzite splashback. (Photo credit: Paul Craig)
The painted / unpainted kitchen is set to be a trend for 2025, where a single strong colour contrasts with a natural timber-fronted island and accent elements. This modern Shaker kitchen (above) painted in Lamp Black by Little Greene was designed and made by Higham Furniture. It features tall and undercounter in frame cabinetry with thin borders on the door and drawer fronts to provide a more contemporary pared back style. The European Oak tongue and grooved island is used as a prep area while the cooking run features a bank of Miele appliances and an induction hob. The sink run includes a Quooker tap. The worktops and splashbacks throughout are 30mm thick Classic Quartz M430 in Calacatta Gold. Glazed undercounter cabinets facing the dining area house plates and crockery and are a signature style by Higham. (Photo credit: Paul Craig)
This small, previously council-flat, kitchen was given a bespoke transformation at the hands of Sebastian Aronowitz, founder of The London Kitchen Company. With a big focus on maximising storage space, while allowing room for essential appliances, Sebastian created a kitchen design featuring made-to-measure triangular drawers and cupboards to fill awkward spaces, curved cabinet edges to help create a flow throughout the room which also acts as the flat entrance and ceiling-high cabinetry as requested by the client. Utilising clever design features, such as a brass ventilation incorporated above the fridge and shallow drawers under the sink to hide the gas metre, the kitchen is now a beautiful, functional space where everything has its place. Within this bespoke kitchen (above) by Hux London, the palette which is designed to maximise natural light and reflect sophisticated taste, showcases rich velvet blue spray-painted cabinets complemented by stepped deco-shaker doors and finished with elegant satin brass handles. The kitchen is distinctively zoned with blue graphic Terrazzo tiles, reflecting the clients’ love of colour, pattern and texture and anchored with a generous island. The open plan design is enriched with a custom steel frame hanging display unit, open wine storage above the fridge and a bookshelf at the island’s back. The boot room is styled in harmony with the kitchen, housing additional storage. The high spec selection of appliances include a Novy gas burner hob, with each individual burner inset into the worktop stone and a large American style fridge freezer. From the stone flooring to the double-height beamed ceiling, this space was the perfect setting for The Main Company’s Reena Simon kitchen range. Creating a country-meets-Scandi aesthetic, the kitchen is painted in Farrow & Ball’s Down Pipe, the dark cabinets combined with a stainless steel splashback, fluted glass cabinetry and light solid oak drawer fronts. Brass hardware, from Carlisle Brass, injects a touch of elegance, whilst the light quartz worktops help tie everything together visually. A wooden breakfast counter complements the beautiful exposed beams, helping to retain warmth and character whilst ensuring the kitchen isn’t overwhelmed by the scale of the open-plan room.
