Following Paris Deco Off and now London Design Week, here’s a bumper round up of the latest fabric and wallpaper collections launched for Spring 2024
National Trust Papers IV from Little Greene is the fourth instalment of authentic wallpaper designs derived from National Trust properties in England, Wales & Northern Ireland. This eclectic collection features eight historic designs that have been adapted and re-coloured for use in modern homes. Expect an array of exotic birds, ditsy florals and tropical murals. GP & J Baker have collaborated for the first time with Kit Kemp. The GP & J Baker x Kit Kemp collection comprises colourful prints, artisanal stripes embroideries and plain linens. One highlight is Robina’s Dinner Party a whimsical design celebrating ceramicist Robina Jack’s hand painted folklore plates.

Rubelli has the launched Spice Dream a celebration of traditional Indian textiles. Comprising 14 distinct designs, the collection includes silk lampas, jacquard, sheers, embroidery and velvets.

The historic French brand Quenin has been launched in the UK by Lelievre Paris. Designs from its extensive archives have been revisited across fabrics, wallpapers and rugs, including toile de Jouy, jacquards and linen embroidery.

This spring, Designers Guild is enhancing many of its designs with embroidery. Florals are layered with intricate stitching to add depth and the new Foglia design features crewel work in wool threads, adding a heavy tactile quality.

Elizabeth Paisley from de Le Cuona is a celebration of the natural world with leaves and foliage swirling across the surface of this large scale design. Reminiscent of traditional European paisleys from the 19th century, each piece combines eight colours of wool yarn with cotton to create the intricate pattern.

The latest collection from ZAK+FOX is available exclusively from George Spencer Designs in the UK. Harvest celebrates the cyclical nature of the season taking inspiration from flora and fauna in nature inspired colourways.

Petra Palumbo’s first wallpaper collection is inspired by the extensive archives of Tapisserie, the South Kensington based specialist in hand-painted needlework. Six designs reflect Tapisserie’s nostalgic yet modern aesthetic with highlights including a ladybird motif, retro florals and lively geometrics.

Dallimore and Dallimore Weaves from Nina Campbell draw inspiration from the county of Kent. The collection takes its name from William Dallimore a pioneering English botanist who played a pivotal role in establishing the Bedgebury pinetum in the heart of the Kent countryside. From Blithfield, the Eden Collection brings together print, woven and embroidered designs. There are five new print motifs created using a mix of hand block printing and screen printing onto natural linen in Blithfield’s nuanced palette.

From Arte, Le Couturier nods to the world of haute couture with special techniques and high quality materials combined in a collection of high-fashion wallcoverings. Designs include La Perle, delicate embroidery in a classic floral motif; Franges, a textured jacquard, and Papillon in 100% Dupion silk.

The Carnet de Voyage collection from Pierre Frey interprets ethnically inspired motifs and materials from Tierra del Fuego in Argentina to the Danakil desert in Ethiopia each given a modern twist. The collection covers both fabrics and wallpapers including block prints and weaves.

An exploration of nomadic cultures, the Nomadic Journeys collection, new from Fischbacher 1819, honours timeless textile heritages with richly textured stripes, loosely twisted yarns and painterly designs to give a hand woven feel.

Fiona Howard’s new collection of wallpapers and borders is a colourful mix of orchard scenes, vibrant coastal rockpools and radishes from the allotment. Fiona’s patterns begin in nature and are then translated through sketches into lino blocks to create the original designs. These are then printed onto FSC paper using environmentally friendly inks.

Archipelago wallcoverings from Omexco explores the captivating appeal of capiz shells. Designs include Nias, a patchwork of hand made washy paper combined with large shells, and Lombok which combines a fine paper warp with thin capiz strips in the weft.

The Briar Collection, launched for S/S24, is a charming collection of small scale designs across linen and wallpaper from Inchyra. For the first time the prints will also feature on a new paper-backed linen wallcovering. Briar is a pretty floral lifted from an antique wallpaper discovered behind a wooden shutter on the Inchyra estate.

Designed out of Annika Reed’s studio in Somerset, the Dancing Queen wallpaper collection is available in six colourful designs, each a testament to the rhythmic elegance and lively spirit that dance brings to life.

Lincrusta has collaborated with Morris & Co to transform three iconic Morris patterns into natural embossed wallcoverings. Made in the spirit of William Morris the three wallpapers, Acanthus, Fruit and dado panel Willow Boughs, rely upon processing natural ingredients such as linseed oil with the craft skills found at Lincrusta’s Lancashire factory.
