Project: Regents Park house

Elicyon’s interiors for this five-storey, Regents Park house combine historic elements with personalised, functional enhancements

At the heart of Elicyon’s approach to the Regents Park house was the enhancement of its historic, listed architecture, while seamlessly integrating modern comforts to elevate the homeowner’s lifestyle.

Elicyon founder Charu Ghandi says, “Through detailed 3D modelling, we mapped every space to ensure seamless flow before determining which historic features to restore and enhance.” Period elements such as original balustrades and Regency-style beaded panelling were meticulously revitalised to preserve the home’s rich legacy.

Elicyon weaves personal stories into its design and for this international family, who have lived across Mumbai, New York and now London, the home has a narrative. From the custom armoire in the hallway, inspired by Art Deco but crafted for modern day practicality, to the sitting room’s bespoke bamboo-silk rug, which symbolises the family’s journey together.

Charu says, “One of my favourite elements is the dining table’s lazy Susan – tested and crafted to withstand vibrant Indian spices, a nod to the client’s heritage and love of convivial dining. To create a home that feels not only like a celebration of the building and its architecture, but the lives and culture of its owners, it’s important to incorporate personal touches throughout. Art can be a wonderful way to celebrate yourself within a home while adding a sense of luxury.”

Throughout the five-storey home there are innovative touches. The study doubles as a games room and bar, featuring curved desks and retractable counters. Guest rooms feature long headboards wrapped in textural fabric to create the illusion of space while addressing the architectural quirk of dormer ceilings.

“Our ethos is to design spaces that feel effortless but are inherently functional,” says Charu. “It’s about layering texture, materiality and bespoke craftsmanship to create a home that reso9nates with its owners.”
